About PABS

About PABS.........

PABS was formed in May of 1992 by a group of local betta enthusiasts. We
applied for regional chapter status of the IBC, and were approved as an
IBC chapter by the IBC executive board during the 1992 convention in Huntsville, Alabama.

Since it's inception year, PABS has had club meetings in various locations in
Philadelphia, New Jersey, and in the suburbs of the Delaware Valley.

We are presently the only active IBC chapter in Pennsylvania, and
are dedicated to presenting an International IBC Show at least once a year.

If you want to learn about how to keep and spawn bettas, how genetics
influence the color of the offspring, discuss techniques for photographing fish,
as well as how to access betta literature, PABS is a great way to do so. To meet
Betta breeders or those who share your passion for bettas, check us out.

MEETINGS:

PABS meetings are held on the third Sunday of the odd months of the year at 10 AM, at the Community meeting room on the fifth floor of Mercy Suburban Hospital, 2710 Dekalb Pike, Norristown, PA. 19401-1821, unless stated differently on our front page.
Our meetings are open to the public and visitors are WELCOME !

How to Join PABS

We are a small and friendly club and are always looking for new members who wish to
talk bettas and share information. We have bi-monthly meetings and host International
shows shows and auctions. Come to one of our meetings. You do not have to be a
member to attend. We have a members only mail list to communicate with each other.

If you enjoy bettas and wish to join, our dues are $ 5.00 yearly.

Directions to Hospital :

From Philadelphia: Germantown Ave, ( Germantown Pike ) west to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right on Germantown Pike west towards Norristown 3.5 miles to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right into the parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

From Philadelphia: Take the Schuylkill Expressway ( I-76 ) to I-476 North to Exit # 333, Plymouth Meeting. Go straight ahead on Plymouth road to light. Turn left to next light which is Germantown Pike. Turn right on Germantown Pike west towards Norristown 3.5 miles to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right into the parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

From NJ or Philadelphia: Take PA Turnpike West and exit at the Norristown, # 333 Interchange, Plymouth Meeting. Go straight ahead on Plymouth road to light. Turn left to next light which is Germantown Pike. Turn right on Germantown Pike west towards Norristown 3.5 miles to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right into the parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

From PA west of Philadelphia Area:

Take PA Turnpike ( I-276 ) East and exit at the Norristown, # 333 Interchange, Plymouth Meeting. Go straight ahead on Plymouth road to light. Turn left to next
light which is Germantown Pike.

Turn right on Germantown Pike west towards Norristown 3.5 miles to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right into the parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

From King of Prussia or Valley Forge:

Follow Rt. # 202 North through King of Prussia, Bridgeport, and Norristown. About 1/2 block short of Germantown Pike, the Hospital is on the left . Turn left into parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

From Allentown and North:

Take PA Turnpike South and exit at the Norristown, # 333 Interchange, Plymouth Meeting. Go straight ahead on Plymouth road to light. Turn left to next light which is Germantown Pike. Turn right on Germantown Pike west towards Norristown 3.5 miles to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right into the parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

From Chester, DE and MD:

Follow Rt. # 95 north to the Blue Route, ( RT. I- 476 ). Go north to Plymouth Meeting ( Norristown ) exit. Look for Germantown Pike West. Take Germantown Pike west towards Norristown 3.5 miles to Rt. # 202. Turn left, go 1/2 block to Hospital on right. Turn right into the parking lot to entrance on your left. Take elevator to 5th floor.

Ray's Diner: Located on Germantown Pike ( South side or Norristown side ) about 200 yards east of Rt. #202. Look for Big sign.
